For over 20 years

It’s been over 20 years since I have been practicing meditation and yoga.

The first time I sat down to meditate, I tried Trataka, or candle gazing as a way to focus the mind. I discovered this approach from a book I found on a bookstore shelf while skimming rows of books that all offered insight and solutions into calming the mind, manifesting change, and other approaches into learning about the soul. Next I learned Shambhala meditation while at Naropa University. And most recently I became certified as a Chopra Meditation Instructor.

I started practicing yoga in 2001. My first introduction was to Ashtanga Yoga; I loved how calm my mind and body felt afterwards. I found this type of yoga to be deeply satisfying because it was a way to exercise my athletic background into blending the spiritual components woven by linking the breath with movement. I knew I wanted to learn how to teach yoga from that moment forward.

In 2008 I graduated with a BA from Naropa University's Traditional Eastern Arts program, with an emphasis on Yoga Teacher Training by completing a 1000-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. I am inspired to teach yoga as a way to help others deepen their spiritual connection, calm their minds, and strengthen their bodies.
